TOMO YUME Group Rolls Out Next-Generation Bioactive Scalp Care Technology
Growing interest in scalp health has swept across Japan and globally in recent years, driven by mounting stress, lifestyle changes, and aging. The hair care industry is shifting from a traditional focus on hair fiber treatment to a new era centered on scalp conditioning.
Against this backdrop, TOMO YUME Group is building a Multi-Source Bioactive Platform that harnesses biomaterials from human, plant, and dairy sources.
A key milestone: Sparkling Sciences, the group's R&D subsidiary, has secured international INCI registration and Japanese cosmetic ingredient approval for Human Hair Follicle Dermal Papilla Cell Exosomes.
Hair follicle dermal papilla cells are critical to hair cycle research and now form a cornerstone of TOMO YUME Group's next-generation hair science initiatives.
In parallel, the company has completed registrations for Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Vesicles, a plant-derived exosome platform. Rice Bran EV—a natural ingredient deeply familiar to Japanese consumers—promises new applications across scalp care, skincare, and cosmetic ingredient markets.
The second-generation MUiKA Exosome Scalp Essence exemplifies these advances.
By combining Rice Bran EV with Milk Exosome, second-generation MUiKA delivers next-generation scalp conditioning for daily use. It's more than a product upgrade—it's a real-world application of the bioactive technology platform TOMO YUME Group has spent years developing.
The company has also finalized core technology for the Sakura EV Platform and is moving toward international INCI registration. Leveraging sakura—Japan's cultural icon—this plant-derived exosome platform opens doors to applications in cosmetic ingredients, functional foods, and wellness sectors.
TOMO YUME Group is committed to advancing biomaterial research across multiple fields, with ambitions extending beyond hair science into skincare, wellness, and pet care.
Dr. Jen Kao, CEO of TOMO YUME Group, shared his vision for the Japanese market:
"Superior products are born from continuous research and development and solid technological platforms. We are deepening our proprietary R&D, manufacturing processes, quality control, and scientific validation to build biotechnology platforms that meet international standards.
Through Human Hair Follicle Dermal Papilla Cell Exosomes, Rice Bran EV, and the Sakura EV Platform currently in development, we are eager to expand opportunities for joint development with Japanese companies and OEM/ODM partnerships. We will bring the research and development achievements cultivated in Taiwan to international markets, including Japan, and contribute to creating new value."
Moving forward, TOMO YUME Group will deepen partnerships with cosmetic makers, hair care brands, OEM/ODM providers, ingredient suppliers, distributors, and research institutions.
Anchored by Human Hair Follicle Dermal Papilla Cell Exosomes, Rice Bran EV, and the Sakura EV Platform, TOMO YUME Group is charting a course toward next-generation hair science and bioactive innovation—with sustained value creation in Japan at its core.
